Abstract

While many of the dyslipidaemias have a familial or genetic basis, there is no denying that secondary causes often coexist. These causes may aggravate or even cause the dyslipidaemia. As they are potentially reversible with treatment, it is important to identify the underlying secondary causes in all patients presenting with dyslipidaemia.
