Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of Natal Introduction: Identification of successful completion of a postgraduate medical training at entry has potential benefits to both candidate and institution. Selection of surgical trainees is based on the submission of a CV, supporting references and a pre-employment interview. In its current form is the interview designed to fulfill this role.
