Abstract

Rugby injuries to the cervical spine and spinal cord have recently been the cause of considerable controversy. There has been a notable increase in the incidence of these serious injuries during the last few years, not only in South Africa but also in Great Britain. New Zealand and Australia. Rugby is a fast moving contact sport, therefore it is impossible to avoid some accidents.
