Injuries to muscles, ligaments and tendons are common in all strenuous sport. They occur mostly when a player is cold or tired. His reactions are then at their slowest especially at the start or finish of the game. Wise precautions are to keep warm in cold weather, in training to wear a track suit, and to spend sufficient time ""warming up"" before any activity.
