The readmission of South Africa to international sport has given many in the sports medicine community, the opportunity to work and travel with both national and provincial teams representing a very wide variety of sporting disciplines. When those sports enjoy a high profile with the South African public, there will be heightened press interest in whatever happens either on or off die field, including the medical problems that die team encounter.
