The objective is to determine if the incidence and nature of injuries sustained by elite cricketers during the 1999-2000 season (S2) and to compare these with the results from the 1998-1999 season (S,) in order to identify the evidence of any injury patterns and possible risk factors associated with these injuries. Twenty-six physiotherapists and four doctors working with eleven provincial and the South African national teams completed a questionnaire for each cricketer who presented with an injury during each season.
