oa South African Medical Journal - Retrograde intussusception of the jejunum following gastro-jejunostomy : report of a case

Abstract

Retrograde jejunal intussusception is a rare late complication of gastro-jejunostomy. The symptoms are essentially those of high intestinal obstruction. A tumour may not be palpable. Haematemesis is a prominent but late symptom. Early operation, consisting in reduction and resection where necessary, is nearly always successful.
