Abstract

A paper read to the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa, Maritzburg, June, 1936. As a result of the perseverance of the late Gonin pf Lausanne, simple detachment of the retina is, in an increasingly large number of cases, curable by operation. If the condition is not cured, the detachment becomes total, and blindness in the affected eye occurs, and sometimes other sequelae,
