Relevant literature on the subject is reviewed. A urinary typhoid carrier was treated with penicillin and sulphathiazole and has remained free from typhoid bacilli for 85 days. Bacteriological, serological investigations and the effects of penicillin and certain sulphonamides on the strain of B. typhosus isolated from the carrier are descriptionbed.
