The patient suffered from a B. Coli infection of the left kidney in the eighth month of her pregnancy. The right kidney became infected shortly afterwards. The condition appears to have been unrecognized, and in order to relieve her very severe abdominal symptoms and generally serious condition, her appendix, her ovary, and finally her uterus were removed.
Aortic aneurysm may develop with surprising rapidity. A case is recorded in which an aneurysm of the arch of the aorta developed in the remarkably short period of seven weeks. Chest radiographs, one showing the apparently normal cardiovascular shadow, and another, only seven weeks later, of the fully developed aneurysm, are reproduced.
