oa South African Medical Journal - Haemolytic disease of the newborn : a report on a series of seventeen consecutive cases

Abstract

Seventeen cases of haemolytic disease of the newborn are descriptionbed. Practical aspects of the Rh problem are discussed and stress is laid on the need for routine Rh grouping in antenatal clinics; it is emphasized that whenever the groups lend themselves to sensitization of the mother, regular blood examinations should be carried out from the sixth month until term.
