oa South African Medical Journal - A case of gastro-gynaecological interest

Abstract

A case of a patient now aged 75 years is reported on whom a triangular local resection of a gastric ulcer was performed in 1923, a total hysterectomy for carcinoma corporis was performed in 1933, and in 1940 a sleeve type of partial gastrectomy was performed for a recurrent, nonmalignant, perpetrating, callous gastric ulcer. Comment is made on the patient's very helpful religious faith and bearing before and after her grave ordeals.
