oa South African Medical Journal - Chloramphenicol in typhoid fever
The results of treatment in 40 Bantu patients with typhoid fever are recorded. Nineteen patients received Chloramphenicol, 21 did not. The greater mortality in the treated group is undoubtedly due to selection of cases, as all seriously ill patients received treatment.
