Abstract

Two hundred cases of eczema or atopic dermatitis were treated with oral sodium para-aminobenzoate. Of these, 82.5% showed subjective and objective improvement in the first week; 43.5% reported marked subjective improvement in 48 hours. Fifty-seven cases took NaPAB for more than a month. Results of such maintenance therapy are shown. Attention is drawn to the frequency of septic complications during the first week of NaPAB therapy, and a possible cause suggested. Random thoughts suggested by the effects of NaPAB.
