oa South African Medical Journal - Methedrine (desoxyehedrine) in the treatment of neurosis: 25 cases

Abstract

Methedrine has been used as a euphoriant in 25 cases of neurosis which were responding insufficiently to other methods of treatment. Eleven patients have improved and all of these were cases in which an element of anxiety or depression was prominent. The dosage is detailed and a few precautions are suggested, but provided reasonable care is taken there appears to be little risk. Methedrine as an agent of abreaction is mentioned but not discussed.
