Abstract

In the autumn of 1955 a British formolized vaccine containing the Brunenders type I, MEF-I type II, and Saukett type III strains was put into production, and early in 1956 the Ministry of Health and Department of Health for Scotland announced a vaccination programme for children born in the years 1947-54.
