Abstract

Though on the evidence available we are unable to rule out completely the possibility that diet plays a part, it seems probable that -the bad hygienic conditions under which the Africans live in Durban are the major cause of their high incidence of amoebic dysentery, its complications, and amoebic liver abscess.
