Abstract

A comparison of conversion of glucose-1-14C and glucose-6-24C (given with an oral glucose load) to 14CO2 in Indian men with hyperuricaemia and gout did not suggest any relative or absolute increase in the oxidation of glucose via the hexose monophosphate pathway as compared with that found in normo-uricaemic subjects.
