In a study of 818 Rh-immunized mothers investigated throughout pregnancy it was shown that the frequency of raised Rh-antibody production, as determined by a 3-fold increase in the indirect antiglobulin titre, was significantly greater among mothers who were not immunized before the present pregnancy than among those who were already immunized.
