oa South African Medical Journal - Cytomegalovirus infection in Black children in Durban - a morbid anatomical study

 

Abstract

Histological examination of salivary glands from Black children revealed that cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is most common between 2 and 12 months ,of age, 25% of salivary glands showing cytomegalic cells and 44% chronic sialitis.
