Abstract

Advanced cases of pulmonary tuberculosis with congestive cardiac failure had been found to carry a high mortality when treated with streptomycin, isoniazid and ethionamide, so a trial was designed to assess the value of using an alternative regimen, consisting of kanamycin and ethambutol.
