Abstract

Surveys carried out using a chromogenic cephalosporin test for f1-lactamase production (ampicillin resistance) among isolates of Haemophilus influenzae in Johannesburg have indicated an appreciable prevalence, especially among children seen at the new Johannesburg Hospital.
