Abstract

Between the two major patterns, namely the traditional approach to all illness specific to African society and the increasing acceptance of Western approaches to psychiatry by many Blacks, lies a transitional position of apparent acceptance of Western methodology with covert adherence to the approaches of the indigenous healer.
