Dikdik are small antelope of about 5 kg bodyweight and stand some 42 cm high at the shoulder. The AngoIan or Damara dikdik, Madoqua kirki Gunther, is the only species of dikdik which occurs in southern Africa.

During a survey of nasal larvae an unidentified third instar was found in the nasal cavities of a blue wiIdebeest. It was characterized by heavy dorsal and ventral spinulation and is introduced as a new species Oestrus dubitatus.
