A chromosome preparation technique has been developed over several years for use primarily with birds. The technique is similar to others in general use being based essentially on the methods of Ohno and Shoffner. Modifications were developed specilically for use under ""field laboratory"" conditions, with a minimum or steps and apparatus, including tile option of using biopsy material without cell culture.
