A very exposed beach and a moderately exposed beach near Walvis Bay were quantitatively surveyed in terms of their macrofauna and meiofauna abundance and biomass. With the exception of a new species of mysid, Gastrosaccus sp, nov., all intertidal macrofauna species have wide distributions in southern Africa.
