Extracted from text ... 26 Management Today July 2005 Women are increasingly making their way up the corporate ladder in South Africa. This is according to the South African women in corporate leadership census conducted by the Businesswomen's Association. The census covers all firms listed on the JSE as well as state owned enterprises. Women holding executive management positions in South Africa have increased by 5, 1% since 2004. Women have also improved their position in directorships by 3, 6%. Today there are eight women CEOs, an increase from seven in 2004.
