There is the possibility that social inequality could come back to haunt black business people. Mounting public criticism of the current brand of black economic empowerment on the grounds that it enriches only a few seems to be creating a climate in which black owned businesses are unlikely to feel that the fact that they are owned by the previously disadvantaged exempts them from social responsibility.
