Abstract

Countries in Africa are finally realising the benefits of technology being applied on the continent not only for the spreading of knowledge and information, but also the doing of business by being able to do transactions electronically including doing financial transactions over the internet and concluding business over many thousands of kilometers. When they realise this, they were prepared to make investments into infrastructure like broadband and other devices to speed up transactions and making the service they offer to the users more reliable, user friendly, cheaper and more sophisticated. That being the case, the service becomes more popular, the prices come down, there is more money to be invested and the circle takes momemtum.
