Competitive Intelligence or CI can provide a useful basis for sound business decisions. So says Steve Whitehead, Managing Member of CBIA, the oldest business of its kind in South Africa, adding, "If you want to compete in business, it is important to know what your competitors are doing. According to a recent issue of The McKinsey Quarterly, 'The global financial crisis that erupted in 2008 shows with painful clarity that we live in an interdependent business world. In bleak times and fair, the successes of a company's strategy often depends greatly on the strategies of its competitors.'
