Monetary reward has its problems. It creates jealously, unhealthy competition and an unwillingness to share. Non-monetary reward again is being perceived as ineffective. Innovation rewards are an essential and integral part of a successful innovation culture, but one of the most difficult to effectively implement. Some of South Africa's leading organisations in the field of innovation who have battled the minefield of innovation reward, were asked to share their experiences.
