Born in 1923, American psychologist, Frederick Herzberg achieved international recognition in the 70's and 80's following publication of his Two Factor theory of motivation. His earliest thinking was influenced by his observations and role as a patrol sergeant during the Second World War at Dachau concentration camp. By the late 1980's, Herzberg, now resident in America, was acknowledged as one of the most influential names in business at that time.
