These "good" bacteria by means of its byproducts such as SCFA, bile salt metabolites, bacteriocins, neuro peptides and gas alter the host mucosal immunity by its antibacterial actions, its ability to enhance barrier function and motility, by modulating cytokine and immune cells and by producing valuable metabolites.
