Orthodontic treatment includes the use of dental braces in order to correct the positions of teeth. The success of the braces depends largely on brackets and bands being glued to the teeth. Molar bands (metal rings placed around the tooth) are more commonly used. Molar tubes that allow wires to pass through them (typically welded to bands) are sometimes bonded directly to molar teeth.
