Kibicho's book is premised on the contention that African indigenous religion did not necessarily have to await the God of the Christian Testament (or Hebrew bible) for fulfilment. For 'the saving Spirit of the one God has been there since the creation of the world and it has got many manifestations in various genuine religions' (p. 13). The saving Spirit of God is manifest in Christ, 'but not only in him. So you can say, salvation in African religion exists independently of Christ, but not completely independent, since it is the same Spirit who is active in Christ and African religion' (p. 13).
