Extracted from text ... news notes Asteroid named after Albert Jansen MNASSA readers may remember Albert Jansen as the founder of the Spreeufontein Observatory near Prince Albert which he later moved to town as the Prince Albert Town Observatory. He published a few articles in MNASSA and his obituary appeared in the August 2004 issue (MNASSA, 63 (7&8), 100). A picture of him observing through his 16-inch Meade appeared on the cover of the 2003 Handbook. His daughter, Carina, recently wrote: "Papa blyft als een sterretje aan de hemel voortbestaan" (Daddy now lives on as a star in the sky). With the help ..
