Living as we do in an area in which there is no decent government school, my wife and I are forced to send our two children to an expensive private school. I remember reading some years ago that certain private schools split the total contributions into two segments: tuition fees and donations, so that parents would benefit from the tax deduction relating to donations to educational facilities.
