oa Mosenodi - Defusing indoctrination and fundamentalism through phenomenological approach to religious education (RE) : a global polemic with special reference to Botswana
Abstract
This paper highlights some common problem in religious education and provides an approach which can make such problems less damaging. The paper reports a small scale survey among student teachers in Botswana on their views about an approach that can significantly defuse problems of indoctrination and fundamentalism. The research findings indicate that there exists a good understanding among student teachers under study that R� curriculum taught to them would contribute towards achieving global educational values The paper also presents research findings, which decries a RE curriculum that exclusively presents one particular stance of living.
