Worldwide, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are used for their effectiveness as analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agents. They are taken to manage a number of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, as well as dental pain, period pain and headaches. However, NSAIDs may produce harmful side-effects on the gastric and duodenal mucosa, ranging from heartburn to ulcers.
