Abstract

Conjunctivitis is one of the most common eye conditions in adults and children. It is often called "pink eye" because of the reddening and inflammation of the conjunctiva or thin membrane that lines the inside of the eyelids and the whites of the eyes.

There are many possible causes of conjunctivitis, including viral, bacterial, allergic or traumatic. This article will focus on allergic conjunctivitis.
