Abstract

Weight management is a long-term approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It includes a balance of healthy eating and physical exercise, e.g. energy intake and energy expenditure. With the increasing prevalence of obesity worldwide, it is of paramount importance that adults and children maintain a healthy lifestyle. Healthcare workers play a pivotal role in educating patients on health risks that are associated with being overweight or obese. Healthy eating and physical activity are key lifestyle factors in managing weight.
