oa SA Pharmaceutical Journal - The naked manager : secrets of success : learning from others : lessons from China : management

Abstract

Are you satisfied that you are doing an excellent job? No need to improve? If you are in this enviable situation, have you considered that perhaps others are learning from you? That they will imitate what you do and perhaps do it better than you? The consequences? The possible loss of your two most valuable assets - your customers and / or your staff.

There is another possibility. Change is taking place so fast that you might end up doing the wrong thing well. Being an expert wagon builder was of little consequence with the advent of cars; an outstanding typewriter mechanic became redundant when computers arrived. (What will happen to very efficient dispensing pharmacists when robotic dispensing machines arrive?).
