Abstract

We conclude that mass miniature chest radiographs can be used in roentgenologic anthropometry. Of the nineteen linear and areal parameters we devised, only six, namely the maximum width of the seventh cervical vertebra, the distances between the lateral and medial ends of the clavicles, the maximum length of right and left clavicles, and the area of the shadow cast by the heart and vascular pedicle, may not be useful in the comparative study we now propose to make into the similarities and differences, if any, that exist in respect to the shapes of the chests in the several groups of peoples who were X-rayed in Salisbury.
