Abstract

A study has been carried out of the Register of Medical Practitioners in Rhodesia to determine how many doctors are working in the country. The maldistribution of doctors is discussed and ideas suggested about the need to increase the numbers of medical students in training. Attention is directed to the need to consider altering the present method of registration in order to maintain current information concerning medical practitioners. It is suggested this could be improved by annual registration of doctors with the Medical Council.
