Abstract

A plea is made for more aggressive attitude to patients with suspected intra-abdominal recurrent malignancy. Many will indeed be beyond help, but some may achieve useful palliation with surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Some may have resectable secondaries, some a new operable primary tumour and some, most happily of all, may have an entirely benign lesion which simulates recurrent disease.
