Abstract

(1) A mass radiographic survey of some 28,971 persons was performed in Manicaland from 1st April to 1st August, 1970. (2) An overall tuberculosis incidence of 0.82 per 1,000 head of population was discovered. (3) A B.C.G. vaccination campaign was combined successfully with the M.M.R. survey. A total of 34,149 persons were vaccinated during this period. (4) The average cost per newly diagnosed case of pulmonary tuberculosis was approximately $767.00.
