Abstract

The present paper 'reports seven further cases of children infected with lnermicapsifer adagascariensis in Rhodesia and a small survey of local rodents showed a high rate of infection, indicating the presence of a ready reservoir of infection for intermediate hosts and hence a source of infection for man. Follow-up investigations on four of the infected children after treatment with Niclosamide (Yomesan) indicated that treatment had been successful. The present results would suggest that human infection with lnermicapsifer madagascariensis, while not common, is certainly far from rare in Rhodesia.
