Abstract

The various methods of investigation and assessment of Hodgkin's disease are discussed. The paper points out that the important assessments are lymphangiography with laparotomy and splenectomy. These procedures allow the surgeon adequate pre-operative information about possible areas of biopsy together with an extremely accurate assessment at laparotomy. Finally, the surgeon may mark various areas with neurosurgical clips allowing the radiotherapist and the chemotherapist an adequate picture on which to plan their attack on Hodgkin's disease.
