Abstract

In keeping with informed opinion concerning the problems associated with providing adequate health care for all members of the community, responsible health authorities in the Republic of South Africa are concerned about certain cardinal factors influencing the provision of such care. The Department of Health since; 1st April, 1970, has approached the organisation of health services in the Bantu Homelands within .the framework of a system designed to provide comprehensive family health care. Efforts have been made to ensure that the felt health needs of the community find expression in the service situation.
