Hodgkin's disease was first descriptionbed by Hodgkin in 1832. Greenfield in 1878 was the first to attempt a descriptionption of the histopathology of the disease. Sternberg (1898) and Reed (1902) descriptionbed the characteristic cell of Hodgkin's disease. Rosenthal (1936) recognized lymphocyte predominant and depleted forms of the disease, and Lukes et al. (1966) related pathology to clinical presentation, staging and prognosis.
